25 Feb HK’s Whisky Fund announces valuation results
The Platinum Whisky Investment Fund has released details of its growing collection of old and rare single malt whisky, sourced from collectors around the world.
It currently looks after over 7,500 bottles of single malts, and as of 1 January the collection has been valued at US$5.65 million – representing an increase of US$1.15 million in 18 months or 26%.
The Fund was launched in June 2014 and has also raised a total of US$9 million in commitments from 37 private investors.
“The success of our capital raising has allowed The Fund to continue to seek out the very rarest and best stocks from a range of private collectors in the UK and across Europe,” said Rickesh Kishnani, CEO.
“The Fund’s strategy is to complete the deployment of committed capital in 2016 while also setting up distribution partnerships in key markets globally – Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Singapore, UK, and UK) for an effective exit over the next five years,” he added.
Working alongside Kishnani is chief investment officer David Robertson, former master distiller at The Macallan and rare whisky director at The Dalmore.
